Saffron and Honey Ice Cream Recipe
Saffron, which has a very important place in Iran’s cuisine, has been added to ice cream this time. Saffron ice cream, which also contains rose water and peanuts, is definitely on the table on special occasions.
Saffron and Honey Ice Cream Ingredients
- 1/2 liter cream
- 180 grams of good quality honey (preferably Thyme Honey to get a good flavor)
- 25 strands of saffron (pounded and soaked in half a cup of water for 1 hour)

Ice cream is very easy to make. The result is perfect! When you taste the intense taste of honey, you also get the unique taste and smell of saffron from deep inside. The consistency was not as hard as I feared. On the contrary, it is necessary to consume it immediately after serving.
Soak the pounded saffron in half a cup of warm water for at least half an hour.
Whisk the cream in the mixer until it is thick. When it starts to thicken, slowly add honey and then saffron water. After mixing them well, pour them into the ice cream machine container, if any, preferably into a metal container. Those who have ice cream machines will follow the instructions of the machine. Those who do not have to take out the container they put in the freezer every 2-3 hours, mix it well and put it back in the freezer and repeat this process at least 3-4 times.
It gets thicker after waiting for one night. It is an ideal dessert for children with honey and cream inside!
